Yes, we are traveling again! This time, flying to Toronto/Cambridge, Canada. You know me; I don't have to say it...but I will. This is the closest to Heaven I think we will ever be while on earth. When we fly, and there are beautiful, fluffy clouds like this, and a sunrise like that, poor Todd doesn't stand a chance of getting to look out the window. Except for the 50 times I poke him in the arm to look at the clouds and the sky and the sunrise to see how majestic they are. It's truly indescribable, and incomparable. I can't wait to meet the ONE Creator of all of this.
Another great perk to this trip, was our connection at the Chicago O'hare International Airport. We had a great breakfast once we arrived, and had plenty of time to catch our connecting flight into Toronto.
We spend the vast majority of our first day in downtown Toronto. We visited the Blue Jays baseball stadium, and contemplated hanging around for the evening-time game that night. Our day had started off pretty early however, so we knew we'd be tired sooner rather than later, and we wouldn't feel like fighting traffic in downtown Toronto after the game.
So, we just took a few pictures of the stadium, and of course, purchased our very own, one of a kind, Toronto Blue Jays apparel! Okay, just t-shirts, but still, not everyone has one, and we do!
Next, we grabbed some lunch, then we toured the CN Tower, which is an 1815ft tall, concrete, communications and observation tower in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It's a giant!
This is the city-side view, looking all the way into Buffalo, NY.
Here we are looking straight down through a glass floor. Yes, they have one section at the top of the tower that is all glass tile. If you are brave enough, you can stand on it, lay on it, walk around on it, whatever you wish. I simply leaned over far enough to capture a picture. That was good enough for me, and Todd came no where near the glass floor. I can't blame him though.
This is the lake-side view. Lale Ontario is HUGE! That would be why it's one of the great lakes, I presume =) It's stunning though. You can see there is a very small island airport to the left in this picture. We were able to see a plane take off which was really impressive since the take-off and landing strip is not very long at all. Plus, you're lifting up right over the lake! Neat, but scary.
Overall, the CN Tower is a must-see if you travel to Toronto. We decided to head to the hotel after our tour, and beat the traffic. Well, that didn't happen. What should have taken us 1hr 15min ended up taking us 3hrs. Oh well. We had lots of good time to talk and just be together, which is something no couple should ever take for granted.
