We took a weekend and drove down to Momma Barr's for a campout. Todd and I really love camping. We just don't camp as often as we would like. This is our setup for the weekend! We invited Billy (6yrs) and Benjamin (3yrs), our two oldest nephews, to join us for the fun. They were ecstatic!! We caught fireflies while Uncle Todd built the campfire. Then he and I helped them roast hotdogs (which was quite interesting to say the least). I'm pretty sure they ate more firewood ash than hotdog!! They didn't seem to mind though. Then we settled into our tent, and told funny stories, and played flashlight wars.
The end result....two adorable little boys that slept like a rock all night long. Despite the howling coyotes, despite the pitter patter of a soft rain on our tent.
It was too cute. It definitely makes me excited for the day that Todd and I can go camping with our own children. It's pretty obvious that we love anything and everything outdoors, so we hope our children will one day also.
Benjamin had to take a peek outside to see that everything was just as we had left it. So fun! They said they had the best time, and can't wait to go camping with Uncle Todd and Aunt Janice again!! That definitely makes me a very proud aunt!!
Until next time then. Which hopefully won't be too far down the road.
