We rented a cabin in Cullowhee, NC, and spent some much-needed quality time with Evan, Rebecca, and James.
Tuck loves his aunt Rebecca so much! She gives him lots of hugs and kisses, which his mommy does all the time. So he soaks it up!
We drove to Madisonville to pick up Mamaw, and bring her with us!
Coach Barr (my brother), is always kind enough to let us use any extra meal tickets he has. Todd and I absolutely love eating with them in the cafeteria on Western Carolina's campus. It just reminds us of the good ole days when we were in college!
I love him so much. I'm so thankful God placed both of us at Tennesse Tech, where he knew we would meet and fall in love, and forever be together!! He's without a doubt my very best friend.
James is such a cutie! And he's such a big boy now! Eating off a real fork and everything!!
See, I told you he's working on those teeth!!
Always chewing, and looking adorable while he does it =)
We went back to the cabin after lunch, and we thought Tuck might enjoy some tummy time...hahaha! how about a nap instead....love him!!
He always tucks his little feet up under him, and crosses his ankles. It's so sweet! It makes me smile every single time he does it.
While he napped, we blew up his new little swimming pool, and added water from the hottub!!
So sneaky, but it made a perfectly warm little pool for baby Tuck.
All of his bath and swimmy toys ready to go!!
He woke up so happy; he must have been peeping at what we were doing. We all know this babe loves the water!
He still does! Since he can't sit up on his own yet, we took turns swirling him around, and holding him while he played.
I have to admit, that is a workOUT!! This little 14lbr is growing so much!!
He's just learning to kick his little feet, and of course, flail and swing his arms around even more!
I think the jumparoo is helping with his kicking abilities. It's the cutest, incordinated kick and splash ever, but I could literally watch play him all day long.
Uncle Evan time!! He was a little afraid of Uncle Evan at lunch, and cried and well, screamed for a minute. I think it's because he has a deeper voice than mommy and daddy. I've noticed that deep voices seem to startle him more. Well, clearly, he adapted very quickly. He and Uncle Evan had a fun time watching football and Duck Dynasty, LOL! --on the side...I've just been introduced to that show in the last couple of weeks at a friends house (Josh and Holly), and it is HILARIOUS!
Tuck still isn't big enough to play just yet, but he has so much fun looking at his cousin, James, and giggling with him. I think it's so cute watching little toddlers and babies interact together. It definitely makes me even more anxious for Tuck to have a little brother or sister =)
James has been in the strength and conditioning field house a little too much lately??? It's incredible. He knows how to powerlift, deadlift, squat, and even foam roll out his sore muscles...hahaha! I missed the perfect picture...he picked up Tuck's teething ring, and put on one end of mamaw's rolling pin, and starting performing squat cleans! Oh goodness. I can't imagine the strength this child will have one day!!
Daddy grilled for us every night! Delicious grilled chicken and burgers!!!
It's so hard to get a picture of rain. Each day, a strong thunderstorm came through the mountains, and with it came pouring rain, and hail! The cabin didn't have gutters, so it literally looked like a waterfall was flowing off the roof....but you can't really tell here =(
James loves shoes!! Anybodys, and everybodys, all shapes, colors, and sizes. He decided to try on Aunt Janice's running shoes, and wear them around the cabin for awhile. I love this boy!
More Tuck and James time!
James gets very disturbed when Tuck is upset or crying. It's so sweet.
Sunday morning! All dressed up for SHBC church online! I'm not sure there's a whole lot cuter than a baby in a polo onesie!!
Okay, probably a baby in swimmy diapers.... right??? After lunch, we hit the pool again!
Tuck loves playing with the little fish!!
I love watching him reach out for his toys, and grab them, then stick them straight in his mouth.
His growth and development is perfectly on track. He's actually a little bit ahead of the game in his gross motor skills! I'm so proud of him!
Catch a fish, then eat it...that's what we do!
Then eat the net...hahaha!
Daddy played a lot with Tucker while he was in the swimming pool. Tuck has always been a very happy, smiley baby...from the beginning! But, when daddy comes home from work, or comes and plays with him, Tuck's cup runs over!
He just glows, and beams with joy. His eyes smile, and I think even his little arms and legs smile too.
It's the best thing in the world for this mommy to watch. I say it all the time, but there isn't anything sweeter than a baby's laugh, and feeling true and deep love from your tiny little child!
James woke up from his Sunday afternoon nap, and he hit the pool too!
Overall, we had an incredible, holiday weekend!!
Happy Labor Day!!
