Perfect way to start our trip! Sound asleep in his carseat.
Oh, how traveling with a little one changes road trips =) We made it to Asheville!
Dinner at Phats was incredible. You can't really see it, but this hawaiian chicken was served over grilled watermelon! It was phenomenal; totally hit the spot!
Sweet baby in his cloth diaper.
Good morning!
Learning to pay such close attention to mommy and her camera =)
He has the sweetest baby smiles. I just can't stand it!
Back in the carseat! All smiles!
He loves riding in the car! I'm not positive how long this will last, so the timing of our trip couldn't have been any more perfect! He was the best little passenger.
See?? I turned his little blanket around where he could see all of the red, blue, green, and yellow cars. He LOVED it!!
Then fell fast asleep.
We made it to Savannah, GA, where we stayed in the Holiday Inn downtown. It was so great! Lots of room to spread out and stretch!
A walk in the park with my guys!
They make me the happiest mommy and wife in the whole entire world, ever!
I think I look at this picture at LEAST 45 times a day. I love the smiles, the surprise excitement in my son's face as he sees all three of us in the camera, and the sheer joy that we both feel in our hearts, having this sweet and incredible little person between us. Whew! It's overwhelming!
My heart continues to overflow with this great great love that I had always thought about, and tried to understand before becoming a mother, but never ever knew how vast it would be. One truly can NOT describe it in words.
Downtown Savannah. Paula Deen's restaurant. How silly were we to think we could walk up and they would have a table for us....no no no. But we were quickly informed they take reservations up to a year in advance!! Maybe next time then.
I tried and tried to figure out how we could bike along with Tuck, but it just really didn't seem like the safest move. So we stayed to the side, and watched them all peddle away. Something fun to keep in mind for the future.
Beautiful sunsets on the harbor!
Just breath-taking! I honestly wish we could have stayed another day/night. This is somewhere we definitely want to return, maybe for a weekend trip.
Beautiful gardens everywhere! The harbor is directly behind me. Open patio restaurants. It's a perfect summer-time destination for a quick vacation. I don't really think there's enough to do there to keep you entertained for a whole week....maybe I'm wrong though.
While scavenging the directory for laundry services, we found out they provide complimentary infant cribs! Up until this night, Tuck had spent every night in his little pack-n-play. I believe he was THRILLED to have an actual mattress! This was the first time he slep through the night also. Proud mommy!
Good morning again! I'm ready to get to Florida! Dying to see some palm trees!
There they are!! Only we had to wake Tuck up for this picture....hahahaha! He's obviously still sleeping. Such a doll baby though.
Getting closer! Only a few more hours to go!
Thankful to our wonderful heavenly Father, for giving us a sweet baby boy who loves his rides in the truck. We couldn't have been any more blessed!
Finally!! Boynton Beach!
This is my wonderful friend Alex, and her nanny who is holding Tuck. They welcomed us with open arms, lots of hugs, and lots of portugese! After an entire week, we believe Tuck's first word will probably NOT be in English =)
Gabby's surfing competition! She was awesome!!
Looks like a pro from every angle!
She was even filmed by the local news!
Tuck enjoyed his time at the waterpark too!
He's learning more and more every day, that his hands usually have something tasty on them...like sunscreen! This is the start to that "everything goes in the mouth" stage....that will last for quite a while I'm sure!
Hanging out in the shade! But we still need sunscreen rubbed on us!
Alex always looks AMAZING!! Love her to pieces!
Tuck was worn out by the end of the competition.
Napped so well, even on the lounge chair! I think the heat and humidity had a big part in that =)
We found an upper level patio where we were out of the water park traffic flow of people, but could still see Gabby surfing, and still have shaded areas to keep Tuck safe and un-exposed.
More snoozing! Love love love when he places his little hands on you. Sweet!!!
Daddy always plays with Tuck, even when he's sleeping!!
Me and Gabby!! She'll be a professional surfer one day. I have NO doubt about it!
Crashed again!
Awake at Subway! We jetted out of the waterpark, because the dark gray and black storm clouds were coming with a fierce intensity, lightening following with loud loud loud claps of thunder! We were starving, and we love subway. So...we hung out there for at least an hour while the storm passed. Tuck didn't mind the storms at all. He's truly the happiest baby I've ever known!
Everyday, Marcello (Gabby's dad) made espresso for Todd, and cappuccino for me! It was EXCELLENT!!! Todd is not playing here, believe it or not. He really drinks his coffee with his pinky sticking out like a british gent.
Rise and Shine!!! Love those eyes.
Tummy time! Yes, even on vacation, sweet Tuck.
On our way to the beach!
Sweet little guy.
Boynton Beach! So beautiful!
Napping in his little tent...tender!! I love his cloth diaper bum too...it's so cute!!
Perfect set up for the day! Not a cloud in sight!
Did you know my husband was a model in high school? It's true! He still could be in my book....he will kill me for saying this...but I don't care...he's one HOT daddy!!
And the way he cares for our son...makes him even more incredible in my eyes. I love them both so much I can't stand it!
I love their little safari hats too! I'm getting one for next year! Wait and see!!
Cute little bum straight up in the air!
Ok, not a cloud in sight...for at least 3 hours. Then this bad boy came out of no where! Ran us straight up to the truck, and back home....
Thank goodness for the pool!! Tuck loves the water so much.
He MUST be gaining weight. I see a second chin on my little pirate =)
Beach day #2! Wearing daddy's hat today, because mommy forgot mine.
It nice and big, and provides added sun protection!
Toes in the ocean!
Deeper daddy!! I like the waves crashing on my legs!!
My little guy is always snuggling. I think he loves his mommy and daddy.
Such a fun day at the beach! Thank you to the very nice ocean-front home owner for taking our picture!
Time for a little break from the sand and waves.
Then back to the house again for an afternoon snack...
...and more cozy-ing up with daddy. As the bib reads, handsome like daddy =) yes you are my sweet boy!
Beach day #3! Juno Beach. Absolutely breath-taking!
I believe we only saw 3 other families the entire day!!
Toes in the sand!! I love them!!
This would be a great place to come back snorkeling one day!
Waiting for the tide to come in!!
Tuck was sound asleep after getting all of the sand washed off of him.
Snuggled close to daddy...one of his very favorite places to be =)
Gabby, Marcello, and Salonge
I could just kiss that sweet face a thousand times every single day!
I apparently really like profile shots of my man!
Yoga on the beach? Why not!
I would break my neck!! I didn't even attempt. Marcello has it mastered though.
This was the little trail we walked through to get to Juno Beach, and the natural preservation area where we spent the day.
Tuck obviously had a blast!
This was the best nap he has ever taken!
Last sunrise on our way home...beautiful!
Of course, we hit the road early early early! Pulled out at 545 am! Made it to daytona before breakfast!
Yes, we will always have our picture made where there is an international speedway closeby.
Over the down and back trip to Florida, we made a point to have our picture made in every state. NC and FL on the way down...
...GA and SC on the way back home. Tucker is learning to look at himself (and us?) in the camera now...It's adorable!!
We made it to Columbia, SC, and stayed at The Inn at USC. It was SOOO nice! We toured the campus a litte, ate a fabulous dinner at their world-famous bbg restaurant (forgot the name already), and topped off our 4th of July evening with a few episodes of Downton Abbey.....my new VERY favorite show!
Tuck, as always, was just as sweet as he could be. This trip wore him out to say the least. BUT, that led to him sleeping through the night, which he has done ever since!!! Parents of 11wk olds...take your baby to the beach for a week! By car, not plane. It did wonders for all three of us!
Next, we stopped in Cullowhee, NC to spend our last night of vacation with Uncle Evan, Aunt Rebecca, and cousin James!
He's so cute!!!
And extremely sweet and affectionate. He loved all over baby Tuck!
Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Evan loved all over him too!! We had such a great time!
Tuck loves his Uncle Evan.
He made him laugh a whole lot!! Tuck has the cutest little chuckle laugh. It's so incredible seeing such joy in your little baby!!
James was very curious about Tuck's bottles, and kept pointing to them saying "wahduh, wahduh, wahduh" CUTE!!!
We finished off our trip with a little visit from Granddad. He brought us dinner, despite the pouring rain. Tuck loves his Granddad. They smile and coo at each other, and it's just the cutest thing in the world! I never imagined we would have such an amazing road trip with a baby! Tuck was perfect, wonderful, so great! I couldn't ask for a better baby than him.
